TraGAMMA
Gamma-ray spectrometry is an important analytical technique for identifying and quantifying radioactive nuclides in samples.
Depending on the specific tasks the data evaluation can be very elaborate. Previous intercomparisons have observed small differences in the results depending on the analysis method.
To facilitate the validation of algorithms or complete software solutions for gamma-ray spectrometry, we develop a new digital validation service. Following the style of TraCIM, TraGamma will be a digital service to request data packages for testing and validating software.
by Matthias Oliver Stein, Henrike Fleischhack and Stefan Röttger summarizes major design considerations of the project.
That includes the different tasks which can be tested or validated and an unambiguous and platform-independent format for exchanging gamma-ray spectrometry data and analysis results: a human-readable and machine-interpretable XML format.
