The DX Schema
The creation of the Digital Schema X, or the DX Schema, will form the basis of the DCC schema version 4.0.
Moreover, the DX Schema enables the efficient development of related certificates such as the Digital Reference Material Certificate, DRMC and the Digital Test Report / Digital Test Certificate, DTR / DTC.
- Digital Reference Material Certificate / DRMC: In some areas, such as medicine, the calibration process involves the use of reference materials. These are samples, the composition of which is known and is described by an associated certificate. The production process of reference materials is defined in detail in ISO 17034. For these reference materials, there are certificates of analysis. These certificates are partially similar to calibration certificates. Therefore the development a special schema for reference materials is necessary. This schema can be based on the DX schema for the development of a DRMC.
- Digital Test Certificate (DTC): Test reports share some features with calibration certificates, such as title or unique identification. Test reports also contain information on test conditions and, if necessary, opinions and interpretations. Information on measurement uncertainty in this case is not mandatory and required under certain circumstances. Just like calibration certificates, to this day, test reports are still mostly issued on paper and/or sent as PDF files. PTB is currently developing an according Digital Test Certificate (DTC), a specific schema for test reports based on the DX schema.
